Heya space nerds,

Sorry I’ve been quiet for so long. For most of that time, I’ve been working on various parts of the game. But for the last month or so, I’ve started putting more and more attention towards a new business venture I’m starting but I’m getting ahead of myself here.

I’m not quitting RogSys. I’ve said all along that I’ll work on this game until its done or I’m dead. I stand by that to this day. I’m just trying to stave off the latter option for a while longer by being able to sustain myself and my family.

I’ve also said all along that I think most of RogSys’s audience already owns the game and therefore, any reboot of the game that’s offering a 100% discount is never going to make money. And I was fine with that. Still am.

Food isn’t free, however. Neither are things like electricity, computer upgrades, licenses for assets, music, art and otherwise. None of that’s possible if I rely on RogSys alone. And that’s fine. But I’ve gotta find another way to pay for all those things and support my family.

So I’m starting a market garden and I’m going to spend the next ~9 or so months hitting up every farmer’s market and festival I can to make enough money to pay for everything mentioned above. If I can get to a point where we’re not struggling to survive and drowning in credit card debit, I’ll have more time and energy to put towards rebuilding Rogue System.

Sorry this isn’t better news and I hope it doesn’t come across as begging for money or whatever. I’m not. I’ll find my own way to financially support RogSys one way or another. I’m just asking for your patience. You’ve waited this long.
